John apologizes to Marlena and invites her to dinner. Marlena asks about Ava. John tells her they are just friends. John gets a call about Paul Hollingsworth leaving town. John calls one of his men and tells him not to let Paul leave, no matter what he has to do. Philip tells one of his men to make sure Paul doesn't talk. Later we see Paul, on the pier, eyes closed, as an unseen figure rolls him into the river. Max goes off on Trent about leaving his mother and abandoning them. Max wonders what his colleagues would say if they knew about his past. Trent offers to buy Max's silence. Trent wants to meet Max tomorrow, alone. Stephanie says no, but Max agrees. EJ and Nicole get caught up in the heat of things until Nicole stops and asks EJ if he's still in love with Sami. EJ tells her yes. Nicole tells him she's done and EJ leaves. Philip and Morgan kiss on the pier as Chloe approaches, livid. Morgan leaves and Philip tries to smooth things over with an upset Chloe.
