John, Marlena, Roman, EJ and Sami are gathered for the Immigration hearing. Nicole appears, ready to testify. Sami is horrified. In private, Sami tells the immigration agent she loves EJ. Max, Stephanie and Morgan talk about Chelsea and the fact that she can't have children. Philip enters and asks Max to spy on John. Max says no and accuses Philip of trying to bring down Morgan's father. Morgan overhears and has it out with Philip. Kayla demands to know why Martino lied to and drugged his daughter. Martino denies knowing anything and blames it on the pharmacist. He tries to lay the blame for Ava's mental state on Steve. Ava doesn't know whom to believe. Ava sobs and Kayla tries to comfort her. Martino meets up with Kate, who's an old friend. They go off together to catch up. Chelsea is visiting with Kate when Nick shows up. Chelsea asks Nick to leave so she can rest. Chelsea confides to Stephanie that she doesn't love Nick anymore. A depressed Nick shows up at the pub. He spills beer all over his grant papers and leaves, distraught, leaving the papers behind.
