Marlena is recovering from her near paralysis/coma. She wakes up confused, and doesn't know who John is, at first. John thinks Marlena seems like a different person. Stephanie and Max are in the French jail. A guard recognizes her from her days as a racecar driver, and sneaks her a cell phone. They discover Nick is in town. Nick offers to buy Melanie a drink. He receives a phone call from Stephanie and Max who are in jail. Melanie agrees to show Nick where the police station is. Nick and Melanie arrive at the station, and Nick questions Melanie about why she left, knowing Stephanie and Max were still in jail. Lucas tells Sami he is taking his daughter and leaving. Mickey and Maggie show up and Mickey agrees Lucas has a decent case. Sami is distraught over the prospect of losing Allie but also about Stefano retaliating against Marlena. EJ will protect her and the twins from Stefano. Trent tells Nicole to find more information about what Max and Stephanie are up to in Europe. Nicole doesn't know why he is so interested. Trent tells her about his daughter, Melanie.
