Hope learns Ava's dad thinks she's sick and gives her no freedom. Ava wants to know all about Kayla's life with Patch. Hope tells a condensed version of Kayla and Steve's love story. Hope convinces Ava to call Steve and set up a meeting. Steve asks Stephanie to take care of her mom. Max shows up and Steph tells him about Ava but warns him they can't tell her mom. Max tries to tell Steph he loves her, but can't quite get it out. They share a sweet kiss as Kayla peeks in. Bo tells Abe, no cops, no APB. Steve arrives and brings Bo up to speed about his past with Ava and how she's kidnapped Hope. Bo is furious. Steve's phone rings – it's Ava. She wants to meet him in an alley in one hour. At Chez Rouge, John sits at a romantic table for two, when Marlena enters. She's taken aback and confused. John wants to make up with her and gives her a gorgeous diamond necklace. Marlena's not impressed and she leaves.
