Hope and Roman go over the e-mail asking what happened to the evidence in the Paul Hollingsworth case. They need to find the origin and who exactly sent the e-mail. They trace it to a computer in the Java Café. Hope calls an unknown person to meet at the café. Evan, the manager of the café, checks the e-mail against the surveillance tapes. Hope meets Doug and asks if he would ever do anything illegal to protect his family. Hope views the CCTV footage and discovers Ava at the computer. She informs Roman that Ava is a direct link to John. Bo visits Phillip in the hospital and expresses his concern that someone knows he suppressed evidence. Even though Bo might have to confess, Philip will stick by his brother. Morgan visits Philip with concern. She wants to uncover what happened to her father. Philip admits he heard Morgan's confession of love, while he was unconscious. Morgan is embarrassed until Philip pulls her into a kiss. Maggie finds Chloe doting on Lucas in the hospital. Maggie does not support this break from Sami, but Lucas feels at ease around Chloe. Maggie understands, and knows of a place where Lucas can take care of himself, the Horton cabin on the secluded Smith island. Nicole and EJ are unsure where this Trent business leaves their relationship. EJ suggests they find information about Trent. He's got to have secrets. Nicole knows a secret: Trent is Max's biological father and he gave Max up for adoption. Now he wants to know what Max is doing in France. EJ tells her they need to find out. Nicole says Stephanie is with Max and thanks EJ for all his help.
