Marlena informs Sami and Lucas that it was EJ who tipped Roman off that Tony was coming after them. Sami is grateful EJ saved her babies' lives once again. Lucas fears she's moving toward forgiving EJ for raping her. Tony ties EJ to the safe house bed, rigging a gun to blast him in the chest when the door is opened. As EJ struggles to free himself, John and Steve arrive. They are about to break down the door (and inadvertently kill EJ) when Steve suspects a set-up and enters the room another way, effectively saving EJ's life. John and Steve return with EJ, who's hugely relieved that Sami and Lucas are okay. Roman wants to use EJ as bait to trap Tony; EJ agrees on one condition: he wants to be put in the safe house after it's done. While baby-sitting Ciara, Kayla proposes that she and Steve have another child together. Steve laughs it off. At Bo and Hope's house, Max discovers a distraught foreign girl crying in the living room. As Jeremy bounds down the stairs, Max accuses him of cheating on Stephanie. Jeremy swears she's just a friend, but falters when Max challenges Jeremy to give him the girl's name. Jeremy then tells Max he picked her up at a bar — it was just a one-night stand. Jett deftly probes if Steph's said anything about Jeremy's "outside business interests." Chelsea says she hasn't and gleans that Jett doesn't trust Jeremy, either. Later, Chelsea confides to Stephanie about overhearing Danielle on the phone with another man. Steph suggests they run a background check on her once they land in Vegas.
