Lexie Carver played by Renee Jones
An adopted child, Lexie discovered that her Aunt Celeste was actually her mother, and that her biological father was Abe's nemesis, crime lord Stefano DiMera. Nevertheless, Abe and Lexie thought it a good idea to adopt Isaac, the son of Stefano's alcoholic niece. Soon Abe discovered that Isaac was Bo and Hope's son, and that Lexie hid this from him. The resultant scandal ended in divorce.
Eventually Abe and Lexie reconciled, but she failed to mention that during their "break," she had slept with Abe's rival, Brandon. When Lexie became pregnant with Abe's child, Brandon ruined the moment by revealing he was Abe's son! Brandon continued terrorizing Abe - even suggesting that Abe and Lexie's son Theo was really his child - before Brandon and Abe finally made peace.
When a tragic accident left Abe both blinded and impotent, he became jealous and insecure. Consequently, Lexie began an extramarital affair with the ready-and-willing Tek. Abe walked in on one of their trysts and told Lexie the marriage was over.
Lexie was determined to win Abe back, but Tek wasn't going to give up Lexie without a fight. While they were arguing in a car, another car ran them off the road. Mysteriously, both bodies went missing.
Many months later, Bo and Hope found a bewildered Lexie, who was being held prisoner in the tunnels below Salem. The drama was enough to push Lexie and Abe to reunite once more, and they both focused on raising Theo. When Lexie discovered that Theo was autistic, she resigned as Chief of Staff at Salem Hospital and resumed her duties as doctor. She became First Lady of Salem when Abe became mayor. In the meantime, Lexie continues to find the balance between being a mother, wife, and doctor without letting the DiMera family name get in her way.
Renee Jones plays Lexie Carver
Renee Jones portrays Dr. Lexie Carver on NBC's "Days of our Lives."
Jones has actually portrayed two very distinct roles on "Days of our Lives." In the late 80's, she was Salem PD secretary Nikki Wade, a woman who had a major crush on her boss, Abe Carver. Ten years after Nikki Wade left town, a more experienced and sophisticated Renee Jones finally got her man; Abe and Lexie married.
Born in Opa Locka, Florida, Jones was the youngest of five sisters and one brother. Her parents separated when she was an infant and her mother sent the children to live with their grandmother in Sparta, Georgia. When she was 10-years old, Jones' mother moved her family to Mt. Vernon, NY and worked two jobs to support her six children. Following her high school graduation, Renee landed a position at Yonkers Professional Hospital as an admitting clerk. With some work experience on her resume, Jones soon obtained a secretarial job at a radiology lab and set her sights on becoming a radiology technician.
But fate intervened, in the form of a friend, who suggested that Jones give modeling a try. She soon signed a contract with the renowned Ford Modeling Agency and by age 19; she was supporting herself modeling full-time and had garnered the distinction of being the first black model to appear on the cover of Teen Magazine.
Jones landed her first acting role on "The White Shadow" and appeared on "L.A. Law" playing the intelligent, ambitious Diana Moses, the love interest to Blair Underwood's character Jonathan Rollins. She made her feature film debut as one of Jason's victims in "Friday, the 13th, Part 6."
Jones has been nominated several times for the prestigious NAACP Image Award in the category of Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama, most recently in 2001.
In her spare time, Jones delights in reading, dancing and playing tennis. She lives in Los Angeles and her birthday is October 15.
