EJ DiMera played by James Scott
A tall, dark and handsome EJ DiMera came to town to do more then just drive the ladies of Salem crazy. He had a deeper and more sinister mission: to help bring the DiMera name back into Salem.
When Sami gave birth to twins, a DNA test stated that Lucas was the father of the girl and EJ was the father of the boy. EJ pushed Sami into marriage, and his deep love for Sami kept their marriage together until Nicole Walker seduced him. Although Nicole was told that she could never have a child, she became pregnant with EJ's "miracle" baby after their one night stand.
Nicole had a miscarriage. Devastated by the loss of her own child as well as being fully aware of her husband's repressed love for his ex-wife, Sami, Nicole continued to pretend that she was pregnant, deceiving EJ. Meanwhile, Sami was actually pregnant with EJ's baby. Nicole swaped Sami's baby with another, and claimed EJ and Sami's baby as her own.
Eventually, through the effort of Sami's new boyfriend Rafe Hernandez, the truth of Nicole's baby swap came to light, and Nicole ran away with the child. When EJ saw Sami's devastation at losing her child, he brought Sydney home, presenting himself as the hero and embarrassing Rafe who was leading the FBI investigation.
Rafe and Sami broke up, and Sami and EJ became engaged again. But Rafe later exposed the truth; EJ actually kidnapped Sydney to get Sami to fall in love with him. After receiving a tip that EJ intended to leave town and take Sydney and Johnny with him, Sami shot EJ in the head while he was passed out. After EJ found out Sami was the one who shot him, he and Sami came to a truce and agreed to share custody of their two children. EJ remarried and is currently in an unhappy union with Nicole Walker. His heart really belongs to Nicole's sister, Taylor.
Despite Sami and EJ's agreement, EJ continues to create drama in her life. EJ and Stefano kidnapped Rafe and held him in the mansion's secret jail cell, wiped out his memory, and replaced him with a look-a-like to act as the real Rafe. The look-a-like Rafe was instructed to gradually make Sami divorce Rafe, with the hopes of getting Rafe out of the lives of his children forever.
James Scott plays EJ DiMera
James Scott joins the cast of "Days of our Lives" in the newly created role "EJ DiMera," a worldly and debonair bachelor and renowned race car driver with an unusual curiosity about Salem and its residents.
"I didn't always want to be an actor but within me I always knew I would be," Scott remarks. "Just a feeling that has lived within me from my earliest childhood memories."
Scott was born in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England; home of Brown Ale and Newcastle United Football [soccer]. The eldest of four children, he has two brothers and a sister.
Initially schooled in Newcastle, Scott moved to an all boys boarding school in Lancaster. After school, Scott moved to Edinburgh, Scotland on a voyage of self discovery. His mother is Scottish and he spent a lot of time in Scotland as a boy. His first summer there he managed to get a job working at the famous Gilded Balloon Theatre and worked with such great actors/comedians as Stephen Fry, Ben Elton, and Eddie Izzard. "They set me in motion, giving me the drive I needed to move forward," said Scott. "Soon it became apparent that I would need to move to London in order to truly focus on this as a career."
After only a few weeks in London, Scott was spotted by the modeling agency STORM, home to many models including Kate Moss and Elle McPherson. Modeling allowed him to earn enough money to put himself through school. After applying, and being accepted to, many of London's most prestigious acting academies, Scott enrolled at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).
After studying there for two years Scott embarked on his journey to the United States. He soon met a man who introduced him to acting coach Ivana Chubbuck - a student of the late, renowned Hollywood acting coach Roy London. Scott believes that her influence, support and belief in him led to his success.
Fans will recognize Scott most recently as "Ethan" from "All My Children." He recently located back to Los Angeles from New York and lives with his best canine girl, Eva.
