Sami Brady played by Alison Sweeney

Sami and her twin brother Eric were raised by their maternal grandparents in Colorado. She returned to Salem when she was a teenager and almost immediately started to wreak havoc on the lives around her. From teaming up with Lucas to try to break up Austin and Carrie, to discovering her mother was having an affair with John Black, who was in fact Belle's biological father. Later, Sami had a fling with Lucas that resulted in a baby, Will, who she tried to pass off as Austin's child. But her plan backfired.

Sami would later fall for con man Franco Kelly. Before their wedding, Sami discovered he was cheating. Moments later, Franco was found shot to death. Sami was arrested and put on death row, but Lucas confessed, clearing her name. Sami finally decided to pursue a relationship with the father of her son. Lucas and Sami eventually became engaged, but due to Kate's meddling, the two ended things before getting married.

After a series of ups and downs, including Sami's ultimate failure to win back Austin's heart, she turned back to Lucas, yet again. But a mysterious blackmailer was setting out to destroy Sami's relationship. Sami turned to her handsome neighbor EJ for support, as Lucas grew jealous of the new friendship. Sami would later discover that her new friend was actually a DiMera!

Sami and Lucas found their way back to each other. During a romantic outing in the mountains, a beam fell on Lucas. Sami ran to go get help and ran smack into EJ. He agreed to help on one condition - that Sami have sex with him. She reluctantly agreed.

Sami came clean with Lucas about what had happened on the night in the mountains. She also told him she was pregnant, and suspected the baby was EJ's. Lucas believed Sami's story and wanted to marry her, regardless of the baby's paternity. When Sami and Lucas were on their honeymoon, they began exploring the secrets behind the DiMera/Brady feud that dated back generations and generations. Stefano proposed a truce among the families, but only if EJ and Sami got married. Sami agreed to the request.

Sami went on to give birth to twins, one belonging to EJ, the other belonging to Lucas! Sami's feelings for EJ ended up growing stronger. They consummated their relationship, and she became pregnant again.

When Sami witnessed a murder, she was placed in witness protection, under the supervision of Rafe Hernandez. Sami realized she didn't want to raise another DiMera, especially after knowing EJ had started a relationship with Nicole.

Scheming Nicole unwillingly involved Sami in a baby switch. When the truth came out, Sami had a baby daughter and a new relationship with Rafe. When she found out EJ was behind the fake kidnapping of Sydney, she shot him. EJ survived the shooting, but wanted revenge on Sami. Rafe proposed to Sami and they got married in front of family and friends before EJ and Nicole showed up. with proof that Sami shot EJ. EJ and Nicole took Johnny and Sydney back to the DiMera mansion. Sami had no choice but to watch him and cry. Now she has to find the inner strength to fight for her children, especially now that Johnny has been diagnosed with eye cancer. Will her marriage to Rafe survive the stress, and will Sami be able to raise her children free of drama from the DiMera family?

Alison Sweeney plays Sami Brady

Alison Sweeney is busy juggling the roles of host for NBC's hit reality series "The Biggest Loser," the award-winning Sami Brady on NBC's hit daytime drama "Days of our Lives."

Sweeney made her debut as host for season four of "The Biggest Loser" on September 4, 2007 and is currently in production on season seven, which is airing Tuesdays on NBC (8-10 pm ET/PT). Having openly discussed her own weight loss struggles, Sweeney was thrilled when the show producers asked her to join the show. Since then, Sweeney has been featured in such magazines as People, US Weekly, OK!, Quick and Simple, Complete Woman, Health and many more. Her talk show appearances include "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Ellen," "Today," "Rachael Ray" and several segments for "Access Hollywood."

At age 16, Sweeney joined the cast of "Days of our Lives" and in her 15+ years as "Sami Brady," she has transitioned from a rebellious teenager to a devoted single mother with many detours along the way. 'Sami' has tackled a variety of controversial storylines including bulimia, date rape, teen pregnancy, and capital punishment.

Sweeney's performance has garnered numerous awards including The Soap Opera Digest Awards four times (1986, '98, '99 and 2001) for the role of "Favorite Villain" and the award for "Favorite Good Girl" in 2001. Sweeney also won the award for "America's Favorite Villain" at the 29th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. She can be seen on "Days of our Lives" weekdays on NBC.

Her additional television credits include "Las Vegas," "Friends" and "American Dreams." On the reality front, she competed in "Celebrity Fear Factor," "Celebrity Cooking Showdown" and "1 vs. 100."

Sweeney is also an accomplished author with the 2004 release of her book, All The Days of My Life (So Far). The book gives audiences a glimpse into Sweeney's personal life by describing her experience as a child actor, life on the set of "Days of our Lives," painful high school memories and the struggle to lose weight and keep it off.

Recently, Sweeney tackled the role of producer and director with the creation of "In Tune," an on-line soap opera set in a music store. She also is busy working with Huggies on their 30th anniversary initiatives and co-hosted the MDA Telethon again in September for the second consecutive year.

She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, a California Highway Patrol officer, and their 3-year-old son Ben and newborn daughter Megan.
