Eric Martsolf | Brady Black

Brady is the son of John Black and the late Isabella Toscano Black. In the earlier years, Brady experienced angst over his father, whom he felt abandoned him as a child. He thirsted for revenge against John and any woman John was involved with at the time.

During his troubled youth, he reached out to his half-sister, Belle. When Brady entered high school, he grew closer to fellow outcast student Chloe Lane. He encouraged her with her singing and the two became very good friends. When his feelings for Chloe began to grow, it was her relationship to Philip Kiriakis that stood in his way. When Chloe was diagnosed with leukemia, Brady took time off of work to care for her, but in the end, she turned to Philip for comfort. When Chloe eventually broke things off with Philip, it was Brady who waited for her. He tracked down her father, who was in the witness protection program and on their way to meet him, they took a romantic camping trip. It was there that they shared their first kiss. They only grew closer as Brady never left Chloe's side during the recovery from her bone marrow transplant. Brady went on to work for Victor. Little did Brady know that Victor was pulling his own strings in Brady's relationship and managed to get Chloe an opportunity to perform for a European opera company. A heartbroken Brady insisted Chloe pursue her singing dreams.

Sparks began to fly between Brady and Victor's wife, Nicole. Victor noticed the attraction and brought Chloe back to Salem to tear the two apart. The plan didn't work as Brady's attention turned to finding the Salem Stalker.

Chloe returned to Austria, but was involved in a horrific car crash. Brady was told she died in the crash, but the truth was she survived, but couldn't see Brady because her face had been badly scarred.

Brady was devastated when he heard the news of Chloe's "death" and relieved when the Salem Stalker case had been closed, revealing that the killer's victims were all in fact alive and living on an island.

After an accident put Brady in the hospital, Chloe came to visit him. He realized that he couldn't put his love for her behind him and vowed to have a life with her. He was determined to prove his love for Chloe by finding a doctor who could remove her facial scars. He succeeded and on their wedding day, she lifted her veil to reveal a flawless face. The two left Salem for good to start a life together.

Brady returned to Salem in November 2008 after beating his addiction. Divorced from Chloe Lane, he came back to Salem to talk things out with her and reunite with his troubled family. Brady and Chloe eventually came to terms with the end of their marriage and decided to remain friends. Brady sensitively dealt with a father who did not remember him. Supporting Marlena in her quest to help John regain his memory, Brady foiled the plot for revenge leveled against his stepmother, and masterminded by none other than his father's therapist, Dr. Charlotte Taylor. Brady also made peace with his old flame, Nicole Walker, who was pregnant at the time with EJ DiMera's child. As a peace offering, going through his own recovery, he offered to be her shoulder if she needed help with not drinking while carrying the child. When Nicole suffered a miscarriage, she confides in Brady about it, admitting she would continue to fake her pregnancy, something Brady did not take kindly to. Brady soon entered into a relationship with Arianna Hernandez. After Brady proposed to Arianna, she was blackmailed by Nicole for the Salem muggings. Unable to convince Brady of her innocence, Arianna broke off the engagement. Determined to reconcile her relationship with Brady, Nicole began to romance him and they rekindled their broken relationship. Brady soon began drinking once again, worrying his close family and friends. Brady's life continued to spiral downward when Arianna was killed in a hit-and-run car accident. In 2011, Titan acquired Mad World Cosmetics, and with it came the feisty CEO of the company, Madison James. After fighting the sexual tension between each other, the two eventually slept together and began a relationship. Brady also reconciled with his father, John, who returned to town in September, at the new Horton Town Square ceremony. In early 2012, Brady decided to leave Titan to go back into business with his father at Basic Black. After Brady proposed to Madison and she turned him down, Madison's husband Ian McCallister arrived in town, causing a further rift between Madison and Brady. The pair shared an intimate reunion when Ian, who had become the CEO of Titan Industries, agreed to give Madison a divorce. Brady re-proposed to Madison, who happily accepted his proposal. But Madison died in the gas-leak explosion, on the night of their wedding, leaving Brady is a sea of depression. Will Brady be able to piece back together his broken heart?
