Behind The Scenes: Aging the Girls
In episode seven of The Event, "I Know Who You Are," Samantha Buchanan is taken to a mysterious facility and introduced to a group of young …
The script contained a line of description that stated: "And we see that each of the little girls has the lined, wrinkled, prematurely aged …
This one line of description from the script required over 3 hours of makeup for our "Little Girls."
Days before shooting, each girl had a silicone cast of her face made.
The live casting process can be stressful for even the most experienced actors.
While the silicone only takes five minutes to harden, the subject must sit motionless for an hour while multiple layers are applied.
The actor's eyes, ears, and face are completely covered, with only their nostrils exposed.
On the day of shooting they each had to sit in a makeup chair for two hours while our special effects makeup artist applied the prosthetic.
The application must match the actor's skin tone exactly so it can blend in seamlessly.
Thanks again to the Little Girls for being such good sports!
