The human Colonial forces, comprised of the Twelve Colonies of Man, have agreed to make peace with their mortal enemies, the robotic Cylons, after a surprise attack destroys most of the Colonial fleet. The surviving Colonials band together on the surviving military ship, the Battlestar Galactica. Under the command of Adama, the community of strangers embark to locate the lost Thirteenth Tribe, thought to inhabit the planet Earth. The Cylons remain in constant pursuit, with help from a Colonial traitor named Baltar.
