Can you believe Ben is already 8 weeks old?! It seems like I was at the hospital yesterday. Let me just warn you all in advance – Ben is my new favorite topic. While I am still addicted to my reality shows and Salem is still my home, Ben is IT. Dave (my husband) and I find ourselves just staring at him. For those of you with children, I know you understand what I’m talking about. And those of you without children, stop rolling your eyes!

One of my close friends had a little girl 8 months ago, and we now find ourselves in conversations we never imagined possible. We can easily go 10 minutes on diaper changing, nursing, Baby Einstein, you name it. But, back to my point – I am not going to prattle on and on about being a new mother. Okay, maybe I will, but not all at once. A little on this blog, a little in the next… you get the drift.
I’ve been back to work for a couple weeks already and it was definitely weird after being gone for so long. While I was discovering the wonders of motherhood, Ben wasn’t always willing to stay quiet to watch Days everyday, so I was a little behind in the storyline upon my return. Everyone told me what a great job Dan (Wells, Sami/Stan) has been doing. It was really fun to see for myself his ‘impression’ of Sami. Dan and I talked about what Sami’s been up to while I was away. I quickly discovered that some pretty crazy stuff has been going on… to say the least.
Yesterday Access Hollywood came to the set to interview me about returning to work, and how Ben was doing hanging out in my dressing room. They were rolling when Bryan (Dattilo, Lucas) came to meet Ben! It was so cute – Bryan is such a good dad. He handled Ben so well, talking to him, giving him a bottle, he even burped him! I’m not sure when the segment will air on Access Hollywood, but be sure to check it out! Priceless!!!
Ben and I are also going to be on the upcoming Mother's Day cover of Soap Opera Digest. It was Ben's first photo shoot! He was so patient and on his best behavior the whole time - he looked so handsome. (not that I'm biased or anything) I can't wait to see how the photos turned out.
Well, I’d better get back to memorizing my dialogue! I’ll check back in with you all soon.
