Tyler Labine stars in NBC's new comedy series "Animal Practice" as Dr. Doug Jackson, a loveable veterinarian who is Dr. Coleman's closest "human" friend.

Nurturing an impressive body of work that encompasses comedy and drama, Labine recently finished working with Justin Long on the comedy "Lumpy," in which he plays the title character.

In 2011, Labine starred in three feature films. He played Franklin, lab partner to James Franco's character in "The Rise of the Planet of the Apes," but he really brings the funny in his upcoming comedy "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy," starring alongside Jason Sudeikis. The film debuted to rave reviews at the Tribeca Film Festival and will be released in theaters September 16th.

Additionally, Labine stars as Dale in "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil." The film, a hilariously gory, good-spirited horror comedy, debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and will be in theatres September 30th. His other film credits include "My Boss's Daughter" with Ashton Kutcher, "Flyboys," "Trixie" and "Antitrust."

Segueing effortlessly between the big and small screens, Labine recently stole the show on the comedy series "Mad Love," about a foursome of New Yorkers looking for love. He starred in the drama series "Reaper," for which he won back-to-back Leo Awards for Best Lead Performance by a Male in a Dramatic Series. Labine is also known for his role as a series regular on the science fiction show "Invasion," as well as a starring role on "Boston Legal." He also starred in the series "Sons of Tucson" and enjoyed the challenge of portraying John Belushi in the television film "Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of 'Mork & Mindy.'"

In addition to his aptitude for acting, Labine continues to pursue his musical and creative talents. In 2004, Labine produced the film "Everyone," which won the Best Film Award at the Montreal Film Festival. He and his brother Cameron co-wrote the film "Control Alt Delete" in which Labine starred/produced and Cameron directed. Additionally, he executive produced, starred in, wrote and co-directed the mockumentary "Extreme Walking." Musically, Labine, his brother Kyle, Jeff Gustafson and Ryan Robbins make up the hip-hop band Self-Dep. Labine is also known as a talented music producer and MC. His band jams and records in their home studio.

Born in Brampton, Ontario, Labine moved to Vancouver, British Columbia as a child where he began his acting career in local theater. He splits his time between Vancouver and Los Angeles.
