    Squonk Opera

    Squonk Opera is a visionary ensemble of musicians and artists who create post-industrial performances using staging, design and original music. The group created their first show in 1995 in a Pittsburgh junkyard, combining cranes, roaring earthmovers and screaming machine shears in a choreography of mechanized movement. Recognized as an instant hit, they have been touring nationally and internationally ever since. Squonk Opera presents an art that includes both the cheap thrills of a monster truck show and the fragile, delicate beauty of high art.

    Prepping for AGT

    For the past month, we've been working on our AGT scene, which combines some of the elements of 2 of our touring shows - our most recent production "Mayhem and Majesty" and our big outdoor spectacle "Astro-rama."  The really interesting challenge for us is doing a 90-second scene because we're used to doing 90-minute shows.  We're excited to show America what we've come up with!
