    Squonk Opera

    Squonk Opera is a visionary ensemble of musicians and artists who create post-industrial performances using staging, design and original music. The group created their first show in 1995 in a Pittsburgh junkyard, combining cranes, roaring earthmovers and screaming machine shears in a choreography of mechanized movement. Recognized as an instant hit, they have been touring nationally and internationally ever since. Squonk Opera presents an art that includes both the cheap thrills of a monster truck show and the fragile, delicate beauty of high art.

    A Little R&R

    Yesterday we had a morning music rehearsal and then the rest of the day was free!  Jackie and David explored the town with an old Pittsburgh pal who now lives here.  Autumn, Heidi and Kevin took a little side trip to Santa Monica.  Nathan visited with his brother.  And Steve got some much-needed alone time at the hotel, hanging out in his hotel robe and slippers, indulging in a little room service and catching up on his "stories."  Check out the photos from our day off here on our NBC Photos page!
