The Sound of Music
Special encore presentation tomorrow 8/7c. Watch the special online now.
Manuela is a 6-foot-2-inch comedian, singer and yodeling dominatrix. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she grew up singing with her father, a yodeling plumber. She began performing ballet and yodeling at a very early age and though she tried for several years to pursue a traditional office job, she could never let go of her desire to entertain. Diving head first into theatre school at the age of 21, Manuela excelled as an actress but was incessantly warned that she was too tall to be marketable. She perservered and was eventually hired as a leg model at Berlin's flagship dinner cabaret. One year later she was the most popular permanent character in the cast. Brought to America by Teatro Zinzanni in 2001, Manuela performed as dozens of characters in their Seattle and San Francisco mirrored tents. Her determination to be a performer is only surpassed by her devotion to her husband, David, and their two children Louise Everest (three years old) and Maximilian Charles (almost two). Manuela aspires to win in order to support her family and contribute her story to the limitlessness possibilities America gives its mothers.
