Tarrick Love is one of 12 contestants on NBC's reality competition series "American Dream Builders."
Love is a licensed general contractor and owner of two residential development companies based in Nashville: Hart-Love Enterprises and Dream Build Nashville. Originally from Mobile, Ala., Love started out as a mechanical engineer and project manager for companies such as Baxter Healthcare, American Safety Razor, Nissan and Federal Mogul. After being introduced to home building by a friend, Love decided to build homes full time and established Hart-Love Enterprises. In 2011, he joined with Nashville-based designer Bynum Design and local real estate agents Richard Potts, Jr. and Andrea Woodard to establish Dream Build Nashville. Since forming Hart-Love Enterprises and Dream Build Nashville, Love has served as licensed general contractor and developer for over 100 new builds, renovations and additions.
Love's companies have received many accolades for their work in Nashville and the surrounding areas. In May 2012, the U.S. Green Building Council awarded Silver LEED Home status to a home Love developed, the first home in the East Nashville area to successfully achieve the certification. Love's work was also nominated for an Urban Land Institute Nashville Award, and his work has been profiled in the East Nashvillian magazine and the Tennessean newspaper.
Each year since its inception in 2006, Hart-Love Builders has sponsored a holiday toy drive facilitating the gifting hundreds of local Nashville youth with toys and teen items for the holidays. The Hart-Love Builders' team also regularly sponsors a team for the mayor's annual 5K walk/run to help improve the health of the Nashville community. Love has furthermore developed an initiative called "Project Second Chance," whose mission is to mentor and train young adult males in the craft of home building.
