Yes, she’s insanely rich. Yes, she’s slightly insane (what rich socialite actually works ?). But while Karen is Grace’s worst assistant ever, she has proven to be a solid friend. Her social contacts help keep Grace in business, and Grace’s business helps keep Karen "grounded." Plus, she and Jack have found common ground with their love of shopping, sarcasm and touching stomachs. Since the death of her second husband, Stan, Karen found love with Lionel. But, she asked for a divorce at their wedding reception after realizing she didn't want to change her last name.
