"It's not comfortable to be fat."
Matt is a legend in his hometown. This Iowa native competed in wrestling for the University of Iowa from 1994 to 1999. Until recently, Matt had never seen himself as "the fat guy." As a top-notch wrestler, Matt was the perfect athlete. He was a member of four NCAA Championship teams while at Iowa and was a two-time State Champion for Bolle Plaine High School. He was also a Junior National All-American and National runner-up, in addition to having won seven state Freestyle/Greco wrestling titles. He was torn from his Olympic dreams by an injury - then gained so much weight that he pushed himself outside the realm of competitive sports.
Matt's Q and A

Answer: I was overwhelmed. I couldn't see or hear. I didn't even know what I weighed until the next day on Regis & Kelly.
