Mark is a San Francisco police officer who works patrol as a Field Training Officer.which means he hears "fat jokes" all the time. Sick of the stereotype that all cops hang out at donut shops, Mark wants to prove that that is not the case. He got into the police force so he could help people - and he wants to continue inspiring others with his story. Just two years ago, he beat testicular cancer. This married father of two is out to prove that anything is possible!

Mark's Q and A

The deep friendship between you and Matt was just palpable in week 8's episode. I think many tears were shed watching you two say good-bye. Can you tell us how the effort of losing weight together bonded you, and how finding such a good friend for those of us in the outside world could help us lose weight?

Answer: Matt & I are a lot alike & having the same goal brought us together as friends. You need a support group for when you feel down to uplift and push you along.
