You made it very far in The Apprentice. What was your strategy?
I had no "strategy" per se. I went into this job interview process knowing that I would make it far simply by working my tail off, and having a little bit of fun along the way. By contributing a great deal to the creative process, as well as the marketing and sales aspects of tasks, I became an asset to my team. My hard work paid off, and I believe Mr. Trump took notice of this along the way.
You and Roxanne seemed to form a solid unit through all the ups and downs of the boardrooms until this week. Even going into the boardroom you seemed supportive of each other. Then you seemed to turn on each other. What happened?
I do not believe that Roxanne and I turned on each other in the boardroom. Unfortunately, the heat of the boardroom takes you down the path of raising your voice and defending yourself until you're blue in the face. For the most part, Roxanne and I remained factual in our arguments and refrained from using any "below the belt" tactics or character attacks. Mr. Trump, without a doubt, would have criticized us if we hadn't defended ourselves. Either way, a friendship as strong as ours makes the boardroom an extremely uncomfortable place. Nevertheless, we emerged from the boardroom with a friendship as strong as ever!
What's the best thing and the worst thing about being on The Apprentice?
The best part about being on The Apprentice is the fact that I've made so many amazing friends. There are several people from the show with whom I will have lifelong friendships, and that's truly tough to find. I feel so fortunate to have been among such a great group of young, talented people.
The worst thing about being on The Apprentice is probably the lack of personal space and time. I am accustomed to having my own apartment with plenty of space and privacy, and plenty of personal time. I truly value my independence. Being thrown into a suite, albeit a gorgeous one, with 17 other people is a bit uncomfortable and at times trying, but definitely worth it!
Now it's down to the final two. You know their strengths and weaknesses. What should we look for as the competition heats up on the way to the finale?
I think it's clear that both contestants are talented, smart and hard-working. I think it will come down to each person's character, and Mr. Trump will have to decide which is a better match for his organization. Loyalty and integrity are key attributes he will be looking for.
If you were giving advice to future candidates what would it be?
My advice to future candidates is to work your ass off, but have a great time while doing so. I feel that my best work was done when I was truly passionate and having fun on the task - simply giving it my all. I think some contestants get so wrapped up in the competitive aspects of the process that they forget to have fun and savor the experience. There will never be another one like it!
What's next for you?
I am exploring a career in television broadcasting, a longtime dream of mine. I am passionate about sports, entertainment, business... the list goes on! Life is short, and I'd love to experience it all. (Keep up with my schedule at www.alliejablon.com)
