When thinking about growing a family business, you have to show your parents a solid plan for what you would like to do, and convince them why it's a good idea. This may call for some negotiation skill. First of all, the best negotiations are when everyone wins. Show how everyone will benefit from your plan, and be thorough. Don't surmise-show specifics and numbers. And remember the golden rule of negotiating: He who has the gold makes the rules.
