This month “Bambi II” is going into the vault after only being on sale for 72 days. Other great direct-to-video Disney sequels are also going back to the Disney Vault. A couple of kids are sad that their favorite films are going away, but their moods lighten when they learn that they can now visit the magical Disney Vault.
Coming soon to DVD, it’s “Journey to the Disney Vault,” a child’s ultimate dream come true!
All the kids’ favorite films are there, including a ten years’ supply of ear-shaped snacks. But that’s not all. In a secret room, they discover the frozen head of Walt Disney along with the head of Vivien Leigh, whom he also had frozen so he could marry her in the future.
The kids find the transcripts of Disney’s testimony before HUAC where he ratted out union organizers. Other discoveries await them like “Song of the South,” the version Disney only played at parties, with lyrics like “Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay, Negroes are inferior in every way.”
Other dark surprises await, like Jim Henson’s tied-up corpse. “He wouldn’t sell! He wouldn’t sell!” shouts Mickey.
So act now, before “Journey to the Disney Vault” goes away forever.
