Place kicker Jay Feely recently missed three field goals, causing his team, the Giants, to lose in overtime. We now join Jay and the team on their five-hour plane ride home…
We join the flight with Jay surrounded by several unhappy teammates who grill him about his poor performance. When he can take it no more, Jay laments that nobody understands the life of a kicker and breaks into a song expressing his cares and woes.
And then it happens!
The pilot passes out and the plane is going to crash. Jay steps up to the plate, claiming to have a pilot’s license. The flight attendant warns him that it’s going to be difficult as he has to fly through two radio towers, much like a football goal.
Jay heads into the cockpit, and even though he lied about having a pilot’s license, he lands the plane safely, but he can’t figure out where the brakes are and the plane sinks into a swamp.
