Greetings weary travelers and welcome to Vincent Price’s 1958 Thanksgiving Special, featuring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Clark Gable, Alfred Hitchcock, and Judy Garland!
Let’s get started….
Clark Gable emerges from a coffin with a tom turkey that is fit for a king. Moving on, Alfred Hitchcock and Judy Garland spin onto the set from a rotating wall with all the ingredients needed to make the perfect Thanksgiving stuffing, but unfortunately, Hitchcock ingested half of it on the ride over. To illustrate the first Thanksgiving, this gruesome couple performs a little play that is virtually like looking back in time.
A word from Chesterfield Cigarettes is a nice respite from all the TV fun, but then it’s back with Lucy, Desi, and their special friend plantains, a Cuban Thanksgiving desert. To further commemorate the holiday, Desi performs a special song he wrote just for the occasion, “Hap-Hap-Hap-Hap-Happy Thanksgiving.”
Vincent cuts them off because thankfully, that’s all the time we have.
