Sketch: Coffee Talk With Linda Richman
Date: 2/22/1992
Linda Richman was a character created by Mike Myers that was loosely based on his then mother-in-law. Her colorful persona, use of fake Yiddish slang, and over-the-top New York accent made her an audience favorite.
On her fictional show, the topic of conversation often turned to her hero, Barbra Streisand, who made an especially memorable surprise "Coffee Talk" appearance on a show that also featured both Madonna and Roseanne Barr. In fact, Streisand's arrival was such a surprise that Linda got all "verklempt" and had to ask her audience to "talk among yourselves."
