When not touring as his alter ego, the singer/songwriter "Otis Lee Crenshaw," or hosting his fishing show on the BBC-4 in Great Britain, Rich Hall finds time to do standup comedy, which, after all, is how he got his start in show business. Born in 1954 in North Carolina, Hall never imagined himself as being a comic, but a series of strange jobs (he once hosted a donkey basketball game) led him to become the opening act for the rock group Talking Heads.
After making the standup rounds, he became a writer/performer for the sketch show "Fridays," "Late Night With Dave Letterman," and "Not Necessarily the News." From there, he joined the SNL cast for a season before continuing his work as a chronicler and commentator on the pitfalls of the modern world.
