Randy Quaid is one of the most versatile actors working today, equally at ease in comedies and dramas. His first role out of college was in director Peter Bogdanovich's acclaimed 1971 film "The Last Picture Show." Two years later, he was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in the Jack Nicholson film "The Last Detail."
At the age of 35 - and after many film roles - he joined the cast of SNL for a season, which helped to push him further into the mainstream. His association with the "Vacation" movies and with the Farrelly brothers cemented him in the minds of many as a comic actor, but Quaid continues to prove that he is a multifaceted talent.
