Matt Craven as Captain Daniel Lewis
To many Matt Craven is a recognizable face, having appeared in over 60 film and television roles. His first acting experience came when he auditioned for a local production of “Dracula” and landed the role of Jonathon Harker. After realizing his dream of becoming an actor, Craven pursued the profession full time. He can now be seen in the role of Captain Daniel Lewis on NBC’s drama series “Raines.”
Craven’s first supporting feature-film role was in “Meatballs.” He followed that up with the Academy Award-nominated film “Bravery in the Field.” He then went on to act in plays and eventually moved from his native Canada to New York City. It wasn’t long before he was landing roles in both film and television.
Craven has appeared in the films “Jacob’s Ladder,” “Crimson Tide,” “The Clearing,” “Assault on Precinct 13” and most recently, he appeared opposite Denzel Washington in “Déjà Vu.”
In addition, Craven has made notable TV appearances in such series as “L.A. Doctors,” NBC’s “ER,” “Boomtown,” “Without a Trace” and in the acclaimed miniseries, “From the Earth to the Moon.”
Craven and his family currently live in Los Angeles. His birthday is November 10.
