Gerry McCambridge  biography

1) You've been a professional entertainer for years and currently work in Las Vegas. You made it really far in the competition. Why do you think you didn't make it to the last round?

Seems the American voters liked the "dangerous" routines - Snakes, acid, fire, scorpions, bear traps, nail guns, razor blades - and that is not my style of performing. As I said, I am proud to be a family friendly performer. I have six children and a grandson. I would never want them to see me doing dangerous things, setting a bad example for them and others. I gave 110% on the show and I am very proud of what I performed, and so is my family and friends, and that is all that matters to me.

2) So is mentalism real or "just a trick"?

You decide!

3) What did you learn from your experience on the show?

I made a lot of good friends on the show. We helped each other with our acts. My main concern was to let the public see good mentalism. This way when they visit Las Vegas, and see the billboards and ads for the show "The Mentalist" at Hooters Casino Hotel, they will understand what type of entertainment it is and attend the show.

4) Who do you think will be the ultimate Phenomenon?

I told all the contestants from day one, that we are all very talented performers. I told them this would not be a talent show, but in the end it would be a popularity contest. Mike Super seems to have the biggest MySpace following with over 600,000 friends. Pretty impressive since Criss Angel only has 300,000 on his list. Mike sends out MySpace bulletins asking for votes. How could anyone beat that?

5) What's next for you?

I have continued to perform in Las Vegas throughout the entire Phenomenon competition. I will resume my full time performing schedule at Hooters Casino Hotel immediately , and catch up on lost family time as well.
