David Bailey portrays Alistair Crane, the rich, powerful and arrogant patriarch of Harmony's wealthiest family. The character of Alistair Crane has been a mystery to viewers since Passions' inception in July 1999. Playing the characters of Harmony like puppets on his string, Alistair has always been heard, but not seen. This all changes in the Fall of 2004 when Alistair's ultimate betrayer, his long thought-dead wife Katherine, returns to Harmony to confront her murderous husband!
Bailey portrayed Russ Matthews on "Another World" for ten years. He also portrayed Charles Kincaid in the hit sitcom "Kate & Allie". Bailey's stage credits are extensive and include "Pal Joey," "Thief River," "Camping with Henry and Tom," "The Sisters Rosenweig," "Shadowlands," "A Hatful of Rain," "Orphans," "Light up the Sky," "The Price," "Death Trap" and "I Ought to be in Pictures." Bailey has written for the stage, film and television and those credits include "Deck the Halls with Lots of Bodies," "Are You Listening?" and "Your Place or Mine?" He is also a founding member of The Black Book Theatre Co and the Discovery Workshop. Bailey's most recent roles are in the upcoming motion picture "The Good Thief" and as General Cunningham in "Something the Lord Made" for HBO films.
For 25 years Bailey worked with the late Danny Thomas as a regional host of the St. Jude's Telethon on WLIO-TV, the NBC affiliate in Lima, Ohio. He is also active with The Arthritis Research Institute and The American Red Cross.
Bailey was born on October 27. He resides with his wife in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New York, NY and now Los Angeles, CA.
