Mädchen Amick joins the cast of NBC's "My Own Worst Enemy," playing the part of Henry Spivey's wife, Angie.
In 1990 director David Lynch, who played a pivotal role in Amick's development as an actress, chose her to play waitress Shelly Johnson on the TV series "Twin Peaks" and viewers soon came to love her.
Amick followed the success of "Twin Peaks" with a challenging and seductive role in the feature film "Dream Lover," a thriller in which she co-starred with James Spader. It is one of the few films to showcase her awesome ability to portray a complex character. Roger Ebert called her performance "perfect," and said that he expected to "see more great things from this talented actress."
Amick has a wide array of credits ranging from NBC dramas "ER" and "Law & Order," to the quirky comedies "The Gilmore Girls" and NBC's "Ed."
Her upcoming credits include a role on "Californication" opposite David Duchovny and "Gossip Girl" opposite Chace Cawford, in addition to her new role on "My Own Worst Enemy."
Success arrived early for Amick, when at the age of sixteen and with her parents' blessing, she dropped out of school and moved to Los Angeles, where she found work in modeling and music videos.
Amick divides her time between New York and Los Angeles. She is married with two children.
