This year's extravagant Miss Universe pageant will air live on NBC and Telemundo. This is the first time since 1998 (Honolulu, Hawaii) that the United States will be the host country. Nancy O'Dell and Carlos Ponce will host this year's pageant, which is produced by Executive Producer Donald J. Trump and The Gurin Company. Carson Kressley (Queer Eye) will provide commentary and will be joined by former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey.

Last year's winner, Toronto, Canada native, Natalie Glebova, travels the nation as an advocate for HIV/AIDS education, research, and legislation. She will crown her successor at the conclusion of the two-hour primetime telecast. Each contestant from more than 80 countries around the world will be judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview.
