BIO
Michael Sarysz (Lorraine's Son)
Hometown: Plantation, FL
Occupation: Fire/E.M.T.
Age: 25
I was born in Chicago, Illinois. When I was a kid, I moved to Florida with my mom and brother Matthew. I attended college to pursue a career as an EMT/paramedic/firefighter. Becoming a firefighter was something I’ve always wanted to do.
South Florida is my home and I enjoy all it has to offer. When I'm not jet skiing on Fort Lauderdale Beach you would probably find me scuba diving. I enjoy golfing and flying remote control jets. I am a very focused and motivated person.
I believe family is one of the most important things in our lives and I believe in the saying, “Hard work pays off.” I hold myself to a high standard and treat each person who comes into my life with the same respect that I would like.
I’m extremely grateful to my mother, who taught me by example, and my grandparents, who were always there for me. Without their love and support, it would have been very difficult for my mother, brother, and myself.
BIO
Lorraine Sarysz-Nichols (Michael's Mom)
Hometown: Plantation, FL
Occupation: Citizen Services Specialist
Age: 49
I was born in Queens, New York, eventually moving to Chicago and Florida. I was married at 22 and had my first son, Michael, at age 23. At 26, I gave birth to my second son Matthew. At 29, I was divorced and moved with my two boys to live with my parents. Without my mom's help it would have been impossible. At age 35, I was remarried to my wonderful husband Bob. Bob and my boys get along great. It's not easy to blend families and I know how lucky both my boys and I are.
I’m going on my twentieth year as a Citizen Services Specialist for the City of Sunrise, Florida in the City Manager’s office. I enjoy helping people and this position is extremely gratifying. The City of Sunrise has a large senior population and many times after the death of their loved one they are left completely alone. They call the city looking for help with a variety of issues and get me.
Now that my boys are adults, I feel that I have done my job. I was a hands-on Mom, I walked the walk and talked the talk and made no excuse for inappropriate behavior. I held them accountable for their actions. I took my job as Mom very seriously. I raised boys who would eventually become men, eventually become husbands and then hopefully fathers. I don't think I would change very much about my life. Although at times it wasn't easy, it's the hard times that we go through and survive that make us the people we are. I do wish that I would have had a child with Bob, but I was afraid of the unknown. I didn't trust enough after my divorce and I was afraid that I would be raising a child alone again. Little did I know that Bob was the guy I should have had two more kids with.
BIO
Robert Kluge (Esther's Son)
Hometown: New York, NY
Occupation: Commercial Real Estate
Age: 24
I grew up in New Jersey, the youngest of three kids. I love playing sports. Though I’ve excelled in basketball, football has always been my true passion.
I majored in finance at the Smith Business School at the the University of Maryland, and in 2005, I spent an amazing semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain. I live and work in New York City as a commercial real estate broker for NAI Global, with a focus on office leasing.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching football (Giants Super Bowl champs!!), cooking, traveling, spending time with my family, and my dog Shea.
BIO
Esther Kluge (Robert's Mom)
Hometown: Marlboro, NJ
Occupation:
Age: 58
I am a young-at-heart mother who, together with my husband Abe, raised two momma's boys and one wonderful daughter in the suburbs of NJ.
I have been a teacher for most of my professional career and I presently teach first grade in Central New Jersey. I pride myself on being a dedicated and caring person. As a parent who loved being involved in my children's lives, I enjoyed attending their athletic games, recitals, and school functions while growing up. Now, even as young adults, I continue to support my kids’ various activities and events. Cooking has always been a favorite pastime for me, especially when it is for family gatherings and holidays.
At those times I get the opportunity to cook and share traditions with many of my closest family and friends. As one can easily see, my family means everything to me.
BIO
Jojo Bojanowski (Khalood's Son)
Hometown: Washington Township, MI
Occupation: College Hockey Player
Age: 21
I grew up in the small town of Washington Township, Michigan. I am a full-time student at Nichols College majoring in international business and play forward on the school’s ice hockey team. .
I’ve lived away from home since I was 16 years old, but have the most supportive family in the world. No matter what’s going on in my life, I can always count on my sister Fallon; I’m really close to her. My parents come to see me play every weekend, whether I’m in northern Ontario or all the way in Massachusetts. Aside from hockey and my academic life, I am a resident assistant at the college, a member of SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee), and spend my summers working at a hockey clinic teaching kids ranging from 4-18 years old.
In my spare time, I like to go to the beach, play golf, volleyball, and pretty much do anything I can to relax.
BIO
Khalood Bojanowski (Jojo's Mom)
Hometown: Washington Township, MI
Occupation:
Age: 50
I was born in Basra, Iraq. When I was kid, my family and I escaped Iraq and immigrated to the United States to make a better life for us. I am thankful to be married to my wonderful husband Jerry. Both of my kids are my world. My daughter Fallon is our little princess while my son Jojo will always be my momma’s boy. I love watching him play NCAA hockey at Nichols College.
I have a German shepherd, four Chihuahuas, and two ferrets. I am an animal lover, and want the world to know that I hate hunting because I believe there is already enough food out there.
I am very opinionated and will tell it like it is whether you want to hear it or not. However, I truly do have a good heart and am a very generous person. I will do anything to make someone happy. I don't like to receive, but love to give. Basically, I am a softie with a hard exterior.
