Welcome to building 2A!

Blog # 01

The Newcomer

Hi, this is Sofia Vassilieva writing. I play Ariel Dubois on
NBC's Medium and I am starting a blog. I'm really excited to share some fun
stories with you, get your feedback, and answer questions. I've never written a
blog before, so I'm not quite sure how this goes, but I'm sure I'll get the
hang of it. I guess the best way to start off is to tell you a little bit about
myself, and the upcoming season. I am sixteen, which means I'm a junior (11th
grade). I just finished finals and have probably taken my first deep breath in
weeks; I think I spent all that time hyperventilating.I can drive, which is incredibly exciting,
yet, a huge responsibility to take on.
I think my parents are remarkable, especially for pretending to be so calm.I have two pets. Kirill, my cat,
is fat and black. Mefodi, my dog, is small and white. They mostly occupy themselves by chasing each other around the
house, only it's usually Kirill who does the chasing. I have been on the show
since day one, and I love every minute of it. I love the people I work with and
am truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with them. When you spend so
much time together you become a very close knit bunch, and the people around
you really do become like a second family. This season is incredible. It's
brilliantly written, loaded with fantastic guest stars, it's thrilling, it's
chilling, and it's heartwarming all at the same time, and I am honored to be
able to take this journey through Season 5 of Medium with you.

While on the set I asked the crew to write down ideas for
the name of this blog on a bright pink board (the one below). Larry Tang, one
of our incredible directors, suggested the title, there were some fantastic
ones, but in the end I went with "V-blog" simple and elegant, I like to think.
Thank you Larry for the suggestion and thank you guys for some really great
ones. I had a hard time choosing.

Our season premiere, called "Soul Survivor," was
directed by Aaron Lipstadt. The lovely Aaron has been directing episodes since
Season 1 and he became a co-executive producer in Season 3. The episode airing
February 9, 2009 "Things to Do in Phoenix When You're Dead," was also directed
by Aaron. I hope you enjoy.

Till next week,

Sofia

P.S. Feel free to
ask questions in your comments and I'll try and answer what I can.
