Milena Govich- Detective Nina Cassady
Milena Govich joins the esteemed cast of NBC's Emmy Award-winning drama "Law & Order," now entering its 17th season, premiering on September 22 and airing in a new timeslot on Fridays at 10:00 p.m. ET. Govich will portray the series' first female detective, working alongside Detective Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin).
Filmed entirely on location in New York, "Law & Order" is a compelling, realistic drama that looks at crime and justice from a dual perspective: the police who investigate crime and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders. "Law & Order" is the longest-running crime series and the second-longest-running drama in the history of television.
Govich recently starred as Assistant District Attorney Jessica Rossi on the legal drama "Conviction." She also gained attention for her recurring role as Candy on the series "Rescue Me," starring Denis Leary, and was a previous guest star in an episode of "Law & Order."
Govich, a native of Norman, Oklahoma, was the valedictorian of her high school class before she completed a double major in performance and pre-med at the University of Central Oklahoma. Soon after, she moved to New York and found her first Broadway role as Lulu in the musical "Cabaret" (she later essayed the role of the central character of Sally Bowles).
Following that, Govich was featured in the limited Broadway run of "The Boys from Syracuse" and then traveled to China where she appeared in a series of rock concerts with the country's top recording artist Fei Xiang.
