Jay London, Season Two

Fill us in on what you've been up to since your season of LCS ended?

I'm sorry, did you say Lost Comic Standing?

I did a pilot with my sister about the demise and upward struggles of pursing the dream.

How did LCS change your life?

Surreal to begin with. Recognized four years after the fact at a steady rate shows me how powerful TV is.

What's it like being on the road? Is being a professional comic all it's cracked up to be? No pun intended.

I've been here and there… mostly here. I never made the transfer to being a pro. I'm still in the grapefruit league.

Tell us a funny LCS story that fans never got to see happen on air?

It was actually during one of the club tours. I was performing at the Coconut Grove in Florida. It was a Sunday afternoon, and I was trying to get rid of a piece of luggage that had had it’s day. I dropped it by a trashcan in front of a coffe shop, then I walked up the street to find another shop. On the way back, I found the area taped off and the bomb squad had been called in. Of course, I'd left my name on the tag. The police chief and I had a good laugh about it, and I asked him if he wanted to go to the show that night. He replied, "one bomb is enough for me today."

Any parting words of advice to would-be comedians?

Go pure water hunting. Try to be an honest product on and off the stage. Please like me. Thank You.
