Fill us in on what you've been up to since your season of LCS ended?
Since the show ended I've been touring around the country. I am now a freelance writer for Cosmopolitan magazine. I have a web series on Comedy Central which will air this summer. I was on "Ellen." I have been cast in the Comedy Central show "Reality Bites Back" which will air this summer. I am a correspondent for Comedy Central and was doing interviews on the red carpet for "A Night of Too Many Stars." I just finished shooting a game show for Myspace, which I am hosting. I have been working with an incredible group of actors with my production/theater company, "The Collective."
How did LCS change your life?
I am now a national headliner and it has opened a million doors for me. I've gotten to work with and meet some of my own personal idols, Judy Gold, Wendy Liebman, Sara Silverman, etc.
What's it like being on the road? Is being a professional comic all it's cracked up to be? No pun intended.
It's tough being on the road, mostly all my friends and family are in NY and I miss them a lot. But it's amazing getting paid to see the country and do what I love.
Tell us a funny LCS story that fans never got to see happen on air?
During the finals we each had our own dressing room and it was such an exciting time. And we had all been through so much together. These boys were like my brothers. Before all the performances we would hold hands and say a little prayer that Lavelle would lead. I'm not religious but it was always a beautiful time with one another. One day, before the prayer, I found a magazine with pictures of lots of teen idols, like Hilary Duff, or the Olsen twins and all the famous kids from high school musical. So Gerry, John and I covered Lavelle's dressing room walls with pictures of all these famous teens. The face he made when he saw his dressing room was something I'll never forget.
Any parting words of advice to would-be comedians?
Be yourself and keep doing what you think is funny and the rest will fall into place if you love it more than anything.
