Erik Griffin, a first-generation Los Angeles-born comedian/actor, is hardworking, ambitious, talented, and most importantly, "funny," to quote his mother. He has been performing comedy off and on for the past 12 years. Erik's future looks very bright. Most recently he has obtained national exposure by performing in "The Payaso Comedy Slam" on the Showtime Network and Comedy Central, "Live at Gotham" on Comedy Central, on the Playboy Television show "Night Calls," "Last Comic Driving" on NBC, and can be seen featured in several commercials. Erik was featured at the 2006 NACA West Regional and 2007 East Regional Showcase and has performed at several colleges nationwide.
Besides opening for Dave Attel in Washington and Damon Wayans in Irvine, California, Erik has headlined up and down the western United States and Canada. Other accomplishments include winning the Northern Lights Comedy Contest, being a semifinalist in the 2005 International Seattle Comedy Competition, attending the 5th and 6th Annual Calgary Comedy Festival as well as a being a runner-up in the 2005 Rocky Mountain Laugh-Off.
With his multicultural background, (his mother is Central American Caribbean and his father is of European descent), Erik blends well into the North American landscape, particularly in this era of cultural diversity. Erik's comedy is full of hilarious observations about life, love and self-evaluation, bringing together all ages and ethnic backgrounds, which makes for an uproariously good time.
