CARSON'S LATEST MUSIC PICK: SILVERSUN PICKUPS The Silversun Pickups are an amazing young indie rock band from Los Angeles who combine atmospheric guitars and dreamy vocals to create an awesome sound that's earning them a lot of attention in alternative rock circles. Their debut album, Carnavas, is amazing - seriously, it's so good - and it includes the song "Lazy Eye," which landed on many best of lists at the end of 2006. We expect big things from Silversun in the coming year, so be sure to check them out... like, right now.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27: SILVERSUN PICKUPS Get ready to rock! This is the first time we've asked a full band to be our musical guest for an entire week, and there's no one better to start with than LA's own Silversun Pickups. They're a great young indie band from Silverlake, California, where many up-and-coming acts get their start. Tonight they’re kicking off our week of Silversun performances with "Lazy Eye," the hottest new song out there. It's off their album Carnavas, and the track has been making waves on LA radio and is now gaining national exposure. Music means so much to our show, and we're excited that they're playing album-length versions of each track. Singer/guitarist Brian has a unique voice that ranges from delicate and soft to intense and loud, taking the listener on a ride as the instrumentals follow in a similar fashion. "Lazy Eye" starts out mellow, but halfway through it just explodes into an extended live jam, giving us all a little extra something to enjoy.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28: SILVERSUN PICKUPS Tonight's your second dose of Silversun Pickups, this time with the song "Little Lover's So Polite." It features a cool, steady guitar riff, irresistible keyboards, and bassist Nikki's airy vocals for a vocal breakdown. We guarantee this song will get stuck in your head and that you'll be humming it for days to come.

THURSDAY, MARCH 1: SILVERSUN PICKUPS It just keeps on coming! "Rusted Wheel" is the tune from our friends from the band Silversun Pickups tonight. This one takes a different direction: it's dramatic and slower in pace, but certainly doesn't lack the rock. Silversun songs have a magical, subtle build, and you'll suddenly feel like you’re floating as the energy picks up.

FRIDAY, MARCH 2: SILVERSUN PICKUPS Tonight they're pulling out all the stops. For the final night of their Last Call residency, Silversun Pickups will be showing off their stuff with "Kissing Families," the quintessential Silversun song. It's from their previous EP Pikul, and it's awesome to end the week with a classic. We hope you got your fill of Silversun Pickups, but we can't imagine how you’d ever get enough, so to curb your craving, be sure to check them out in person - they're touring all over the country with Snow Patrol!
