Two-time Emmy Award-winning writer-producer Gardner Stern lends his creative talents to NBC’s sexy, hit drama “Las Vegas,” serving as executive producer and writer.
Born and raised in Chicago, Stern attended Yale University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in history before earning his masters in business administration degree at the University of Chicago. After a seven-year stint in the world of advertising, he made the transition to television, moving to Los Angeles and eventually beginning his television career as a staff writer on the drama “Capitol News.”
Stern’s other writing and producing credits include NBC’s “Law & Order,” “NYPD Blue,” “Chicago Hope” and “The Practice.” He also created the critically acclaimed cable series “Breaking News.”
The recipient of two Peabody Awards, Stern also garnered a Golden Globe Award and three more Emmy nominations for his work on “NYPD Blue.” He also received a Producer’s Guild of America Golden Laurel Award for his work on “Law & Order” and was nominated for an award from the Writers Guild of America.
Stern resides in Los Angeles with his wife and three children.
