Sydney Tamiia Poitier stars in NBC's two-hour movie "Knight Rider" as Carrie Rivai, a tough FBI agent who doesn't see eye-to-eye with Mike Traceur (Justin Bruening), son of Michael Knight.
Poitier, the youngest daughter of legendary actor Sidney Poitier, has most recently appeared in Quentin Tarantino's ‘Deathproof" portion of the "Grindhouse" double feature film and has worked under the direction of Academy Award winners Clint Eastwood and Helen Mirren. Her feature-film credits include "True Crime," "MacArthur Park," "Happy Birthday" and "Devil Cats," directed by her sister Anika Poitier.
Poitier was the lead in the series "Abby" and also was a series regular on "First Years" and "Joan of Arcadia." She had a recurring role in "Veronica Mars" and has guest-starred in such shows as "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Twilight Zone." Among Poitier's theater credits are "Titus Andronicus," "Our Town" and "Hello, From Birtha."
Poitier received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and currently resides in Los Angeles. Her birthday is November 23.
