King Silas Benjamin
A Lion in Late Autumn...
Silas is the absolute monarch of the nation he built. Like George Washinton, Silas was a great military leader during the wars that granted his people their freedom, a man who rose from humble beginnings to become king of all he surveys. At once benevolent and cruel, idealistic and vindictive, Silas's rule over the kingdom he founded has never come into question... that is, until David Shepherd comes into his life. Silas has always claimed to be the king "chosen by God" to lead his nation, and begins to suspect that David has been "chosen" to succeed him. As the jealous king struggles to hang on to his throne and his family, Silas will be torn between loving David, and wanting to destroy him.
