Why did you want to be on Fear Factor?

Daniel: I am a single dad. And one of the routines that my 7 year old daughter, Lauren and I do, is watch Fear Factor. One day she leaned into me and said, "Dad, I want you to be on Fear Factor." I explained that I didn't fit the standard profile of a twenty-something hottie. Well, Lauren didn't give up. She actually started praying: "Dear God, please get my dad on Fear Factor." When I saw the opportunity to audition, I went through the motions, for her sake. God took over from there.

Whitney: Every time I watch it I get the itch to be on the show. I love challenges and since it's the ultimate challenge show, what could be better? You can imagine my excitement when Dan called me up about the audition!

What was the toughest stunt and why?

Daniel: Oh, by far the toughest stunt was sitting in a tank of baby alligators with the frogs dumped on our heads, passing poker chips by mouth. It was so hard to reach Whitney I had to use my tongue and then there were frogs sitting on top of the deposit slot. YUCK!

Whitney: Definitely the first stunt where I had to be launched, swim and! hang from the helicopter. The swim was so tough because the water was so choppy with the helicopters overhead and it was such a long stunt...It was really hard to catch my breath.

Who annoyed you the most and why?

Daniel: David Daskel is a great guy and was fun to be around. But, dude, after he dropped Aubrey, like eight times, he felt so bad about it he wouldn't stop apologizing to her. That was a little uncomfortable.

Whitney: Actually we all got along really welll...I was really surprised and blessed.

How will you spend the cash?

Daniel: I will give a bunch to my church and Lauren's mom. The rest I will put in the bank to help me further my new acting career !!!!

Whitney: I'd like to get Lasik eye surgery, buy a beach cruiser and pay off debt among other things.

Dan, do you think Whitney's triathlon experience helped you guys win since the stunts were all physically challenging? Whitney, did you?

Daniel: I couldn't have had a better partner. Man, am I lucky to have her on my team. What an anchor she turned out to be. Yes, her training was a big asset to our performance. She's a very strong swimmer and, it turns out, was the voice of reason.

Whitney: I feel like it was a gift of God that I had just gotten done training...it definitely helped us out that I had been swimming a lot.

What was it like being in the tank with the frogs and alligators? Did those cute little gators really bite?

Daniel: This was absolutely the hardest stunt. Their teeth didn't bother me as much as the frog poop that got in my mouth.

Whitney: Yeah, the gators definitely bit....they were really freaky as they would thrash about if you moved too quickly....the frogs were just disgusting because they were crawling all over all the chips...I must have gotten so much frog poo in my mouth!

Daniel, your "deceptive stride" really paid off. Do you have a regular "geek" workout that you can recommend to other future Fear Factor competitors?

Daniel: Yeah, it's called "Daddy-Daughter Day" at Disneyland. She rides on my shoulders most of the day. I walk a lot.

Did you bond with your freak competitors and perhaps resolve any lingering high school angst?

Daniel: I am surprised about this. Yeah, I didn't expect to, but I feel real good about what we did and how we behaved. I think this does indeed adress some lingering issues.

Whitney: I was really surprised at how much i enjoyed meeting all of our competitors...I feel like I learned a lot from all of them and really enjoyed the time with them. High school angst gone!
