Recent Fear Factor winner Kasey Clark ate live snails and launched a car out the back of a moving semi! Here's what Kasey had to say about her Fear Factor experience!
Coming into the competition, what type of stunt did you think would be the hardest for you? Why?
Coming into the competition I thought that the eating stunt would be the hardest for me. I watch Fear Factor every Monday and some of the things that the contestants have to eat make me sick just watching them eat it let alone it be my turn and I'm the one eating the gross dish.
Before the game began, which player did you see as your biggest competitor? Why?
Before the game began, I thought that Kit Cope would be a hard competitor. He was a world champion cage fighter. I mean that right there tells ya he's strong mentally and physically. I was surprised of his outcome.
Why did you choose to put your legs directly out in front of you in the box stunt when everyone else chose to use the corners?
Before the stunt had started I was planning on putting my legs in the corners like everyone else had done. But once I got up in the air and the box started getting wet and the walls were getting slippery I tried to put my legs out to the side and I kept on slipping it just wasn't working for me. So I figured that I only had to hold myself for a little over a minute and so I got up there with my legs straight out in front of me and I wasn't moving until I saw her doing the walk of shame. As soon as I saw her walking away I dropped. My legs were so weak I couldn't even stand up. I'm not so sure that was the best way to do it.
Alright, on a serious note, what did you think of Greg's too-tight pants?
Oh my gosh, Greg's too-tight pants were hysterical. I mean drop dead, roll on the ground funny! But hey I give him two thumbs up because I don't know too many guys who would of had the guts to wear those pants around the house let alone on national T.V. So he definitely had guts. But they definitely matched his personality.
What did you think when you were asked to wear formal wear for the second stunt? I wasn't so sure of what to expect when they told us we had to wear something formal for the second stunt. I figured it had to be some kind of fine dining....
You looked like you might lose it a few times while eating the snails. What was going through your mind?
When I was eating the snails I wasn't so sure that I wasn't going to lose it!! I was trying so hard to keep them down but every time I went to bite into another one my teeth were so filled with snail shells and my throat was so slimy that it seemed impossible to swallow. They tasted so gross I don't know how the French do it.
Were you surprised that Susan quit in the middle of the snail-eating stunt?
Susan had me worried at first. I thought for sure she would finish. She had a good pace going and I thought she was eating them faster than I did. I started to tell her how gross they tasted and how slimy they were going down and I think it might have gotten to her just a bit. But she did surprise me that she quit, I mean she saw me gaging so she knew it wasn't going to be a piece of cake.
How did you feel about going head-to-head against Greg in the finals after he had blown everyone else away in the other stunts? I was worried sick about going up against Greg in the final stunt. I mean here is this guy who works out all the time, he's in great shape, eats snails like he loves them and eats them all the time, yeah I was definitely worried about Greg. Plus, we got a car stunt to top it all off. I mean a car stunt is definitely more a guy's stunt than a girl's stunt. I thought he had it in the bag, I won't lie! I thought for sure he was taking home my cash.
What was it like to ram a car through the back door of a moving semi truck? Were you nervous? It was awesome!!!!! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I got to do it. It was a rush, but I was scared to death. I was worried my car might flip or something I wasn't sure, but the stunt crew did such a good job putting me in that car my arms and legs were going numb and I was having a hard time breathing and I started hyperventilating. I was breathing so heavy I couldn't even see out of my face shield...But I guess I made a quite the recovery.
After being responsible and paying for equine massage school, what are you going to do with the rest of the money? Did the Joplin local paper do a story on you after all? I think after Equine School, pay off some bills and go shopping for a few new clothes for that vacation in the Bahamas. And of course I will put some money in savings like a good girl.
Yes, my local paper did do an article on me and it covered a whole page in the paper. I was so excited to see that I was a local celebrity for a day. It was big news in my little hometown!!!
