Jennifer Tiersma braved a special All Female Fear Factor and emerged victorious! Read her exclusive FearFactor.com interview below.
Did you think that competing against all women was going to make the game easier or harder than the typical male/female mix?
Yeah, I was definitely relieved to be on an all -emale episode. Going into it I felt as if I had a definite advantage. I often act like a "girly" girl [who is]scared of things, however a lot of it is just that, an act. I CAN rise above that, if needed...many girls can't. I knew there would be a couple of aspiring models on the episode who were in it only to be discovered- I was there to have a good time and to stir things up!!!
What is one of your biggest fears and did any of the stunts tap into it?
Oh my gosh!!! SNAKES!!! I couldn't believe that 2nd stunt. When they uncovered the pit of reptiles I just about walked out right there. When I was young my cousin David would pin me down and shove snakes in my face. In fact I told him before I taped the episode if I lost Fear Factor because of a stunt with snakes- he would owe me 50 grand.
At the outset, who did you think would be your toughest competition? Why?
To be honest with you all the girls (with the exception of Rochelle) were in tip- top shape and I was worried about competing with them!! [They were all] performing sit ups and snacking on their tofu salad(hold the dressing) while I was zoned out, smacking in front of the TV -- bag of ruffles in one hand and a fist full of chocolate in the other. I thought it would be Sheena. She seemed to be this hard-ass, not very friendly and she had this amazingly fit body. Usually girls like that have an iron will, which is the #1 tool you need to win. So she was a very intimidating combination.
Why do you think you were able to complete the tube escape stunt so easily when no one else could do it?
Everyone used that pocket of air as a crutch. At first it seemed as it would be to our advantage- however that is what sunk each & EVERY one of those water-logged women. I KNEW I had to do it in ONE breath- I was NOT going up for air- the stunt was actually SUPER easy, well I mean as I was down there & turning the cranks-it just happened. By the way-thanks for that FANTASTIC tummy shot! heh heh
How did you feel after winning $25,000 in the first stunt?
After the bottom dropped out of the tube, as I was rising to the surface I thought maybe I was passed out on the bottom of the tube- due to loss of oxygen & ONLY dreaming I escaped. IT was very surreal. It didn't make sense that me, the only girl who ISN'T a workout fanatic would win. I don't work out, I eat whatever I want...hmm I tell you it's mind over matter. The fact that I would win 25 grand &and have all the other girls intimidated helped also.
Did you feel like you could slack off after winning half of the prize money or did it make you more determined to win it all?
No, I felt even more determined to win the rest of the cash. In your interviews and the whole screening process you say that you are going to win, because that is what FF wants to hear, but I didn't really think it would happen-total shock!!
There seemed to be no love loss between you and Rochelle. What was the deal? Yeah...I generally speak my mind, my mouth often gets me into trouble, so I was trying REALLY hard to be on my best behavior!! BUT when Rochelle did her runway model swank for her walk up...I new I would have trouble keeping quiet. She was bugging EVERYONE. But I was the only one who said something. I don't even think I opened up on her how I would have liked to, I mean my grandma is going to be watching this. She thought she was better than everyone else and that she knew everything. Sitting blindfolded in a small area with her...now that was a FF moment!!!
Did you expect Sheena to do so well in the reptile box competition against you? She didn't do so great on the first stunt, and the way she was acting it didn't seem like she would do well with the snakes. I don't even know how she did. I still don't know how I got in that box. I was terrified! I had to get in this zone and focus on the task of transporting the magnets. For how scared I was-I still can't believe I didn't have a panic attack. This stunt is the one I am most proud of-it is by far my #1 fear.
Did it surprise you that Tammy got only one flag in the final stunt?
Yeah!!! That shocked the heck out of me!!! I was SUPER worried that it was going to be very close before she started. But they fired up that fan- she was struggling. I was shocked how fast she went down!
Now that you've won all $50,000, how are you going to spend it?
Now that I have the $$$, I want to invest in a house in Cali. I am also looking into going on a trip to Europe. Maybe my dream will come true and I will be discovered and live out my life long dream of hosting a TV show...oh wait that wasn't MY dream...or was it?? Heh heh silly girls!!!
