Luis Ordonez won a special 4-stunt Fear Factor. When we touched based with him he said he was "glad I can finally talk to someone and not lie about the ending." Here's what Luis had to say.
What did you think when you heard you'd be doing 4 stunts instead of 3? When I heard we were doing 4 stunts instead of three I thought, "Sweet! More extreme and crazy things to do and kick ass at."
Did you have any fears or phobias going into the competition? The only fear I truly had was going home in the first stunt, doing the Walk of Shame and not get the complete experience. Other than that I could not wait to get started.
Who did you think would be your biggest competition?
Definitely not the girls, and I could see I had some advantages over the other 2 guys. I was the taller of all, one was thicker and clumsier than me and the other one was just a bit less in shape than me. So of the 2 other guys I thought Garret would give the most challenge.
Which of the four stunts was the toughest for you and why?
I would say the first one for a few reasons, first because I was going first, which by seeing the show a lot I knew that 90% of the people going first get beaten, just because they would see me do it and copy my techniques, second because I had never been on a Helicopter so it was the most unfamiliar to me, I have been in high places so the second was not a concern, the third which was the eating I knew and could bet anything that I was going to win that one just because I eat the fastest of anyone I know and I just dont get grossed out by much, and the last one was my favorite because it involved a motorcycle, a really small one, but a motorcycle none the less and I had motorcycles for 6 years.
What do cow intestines taste like?
Sooo good, NOT! I would describe it like taking year-old cow liver, kidneys for the pee factor (smell and taste of it), putting it in a crusty old blender and blending for just a few seconds long enough for the juices to flow but not long enough for the pasty, chunky, gummy, tough skin and undigested parts of lunch the cow had just before donating the intestines to be liquefied. On top of that, the smell tripled the nasty factor with the combination scent of guts, cow poop and urine all in one. A nightmare chunky smoothie.
Did you throw-up later?
As soon as I got to my hotel room I went to the toilet and jammed my finger in my mouth 6 times but wasn't able to throw it up just gagging, I really wanted to, so I went to the closest fast food place and had two burgers.
When you first saw the final stunt, what did you think?
I got so excited! I thought it was made for me because of my experience with motorcycles so it gave me a little more confidence, and I knew it would be hard for the other contestants, even though I again was going first.
How did you complete it so quickly?! I don't know. I knew I had to do it because all the crew and safety members said they tested it and tried it on the ground and NO ONE was able to cross it, so I just kept telling myself to focus and look straight ahead and trust your skills, and the next thing I remember I was hanging over the end of the rig having jetted across it looking down at my now crashed bike, just like you said, so quickly.
Was the Fear Factor experience what you expected?
It was more than what I had imagined, blew my mind. By far the best time of my life. I feel very lucky and after the money is gone I will still have those awesome memories forever. Thank you, Fear Factor.
What's the plan for the $50,000?
Get all the bills paid and if there is any left offer it to my Mom. If she doesn't take it, you know how moms are, I will run to the nearest motorcycle dealer and get one, sorry Mom.
