Becky and Jessie were up first and seemed a little nervous as they grabbed onto the choppers skids. They took flight over the lake and tried to drop on their targets. Both twins missed the mark! They each had to swim to the penalty buoy, which ate up precious time. It was a long swim from the buoy to the platform, but the girls finally planted their flags with a final time of 2:03. Rick and Rod, former lifeguards, were confident they could beat that time. They both hit the boxes, but slid off into the water. They quickly swam to the buoys and made their way back to the platform. The tough part seemed climbing onto the platform after the long swim. Final time: 1:44. Slade and Trask got ready to go, while Rick and Rod went to see the medic, since they were both on the brink of exhaustion. Trask missed his mark, but Slade hit the boxes. While Slade swam to the platform, Trask headed for the buoy. Slade planted his flag in one minute, and started yelling at his brother, encouraging him to swim faster. Their final time: 1:30. Both boy twins were on to the next stunt. All Tammy and Debbie had to do was beat Becky and Jessie's time to advance. Once over their targets, Debbie dropped first and slammed really hard into the side of the boxes. Ouch! Tammy, however, nailed it! While Tammy swam towards the platform, Debbie retrieved her flag from the buoy. But could they plant the flags in time? Becky and Jessie hoped Debbie would swim super slow, but she managed to plant her flag for a final time 1:57! Becky and Jessie were out!
On day two, the twins hit the trail to find Joe waiting by a rustic shack and little pond. Oh, and a swarm of bees! While one twin was covered in hundreds of thousands of bees and shackled between two poles, the other twin had to search through a bee-filled stack of drawers to find the keys to freedom. Tammy and Debbie were up first. After the girls changed into long pants and t-shirts, Debbie got shackled and was soon buzzing with bee activity…and bee stings. Tammy raced to the first drawer and grabbed a key, which unlocked one of Debbie's wrists. When Tammy dumped the second drawer, she still couldn't find the key! Finally, she noticed it had flung behind the files. Luckily, she opened the ankle lock on the first try and found the next key quickly. Only one key remained, and Debbie freed her sister for a final time of: 1:55. Both twins were in tears and in pain with over 30 stings. Rick and Rod were next. Rick got covered in bees and chained up, while Rod prepared to search the buzzing drawers for the keys to free him. Rod remained focus, despite Slade and Trask's efforts to distract him. In one minute and ten seconds, Rick and Rod had made it to the finals.
All Slade and Trask had to do was beat the girls' time to advance. While Slade remained shackled and calm, Trask had some minor freakouts while searching for keys. Ultimately though, he freed his brother in one minute and eighteen seconds…which sent the girl twins packing.
Welcome to day three and total darkness except for a lit, disgusting swimming pool. The twins would buckle-up in a Fear Factor car, along with two crash dummies in the back seat. The car would be submerged in the cold, murky pool. When a light signaled them, the twins would free themselves and retrieve the dummies from the back seat. Whichever set of twins rescued the dummies to the side of the pool the fastest would claim the $50,000 prize! Slade and Trask won a coin toss and chose to go last. Rick and Rod took the plunge and one big deep breath later, they were struggling to free themselves. They hit the side of the pool with their passengers with a final time of 19 seconds! Trask and Slade knew they had a tough challenge ahead of them. They were pretty chatty right up until the cold water covered their heads. They were perfectly synchronized as they reached the edge. It could not have been a closer finish…but with a final time of 18 seconds, Trask and Slade pulled out the win!
