Fear Factor Episode 216
Original airdate: May 13, 2002
This was part one of a two-part Championship edition.
You may recognize these players since they have all previously won on Fear Factor. For the men: Tom Trundle (#209), Jeff Beisel (#203), Noel Holmes (#205), twin Larry Lane (#213), Chad Harper (#207), Josiah Bunting (#210), John Piechnik (#208) and Al Ameida (#206). For the women: Patricia Campbell (#201), Jessica Parise (#204), Playmate Lauren Hill (#214), Nicole Barile (#211) and Leslie Graham (#212). Thirteen winners, 5 stunts and a one hundred thousand-dollar prize! The men and women will compete separately until the final stunt.
The first stunt for the men would require stamina, strength and good ab muscles. Two at a time the players would be hoisted by their ankles, over 100 feet in the air. Four boxes would be strapped to their bodies, from their chests to their ankles. Each box contains a key to open the next box. Working from their chests down, players must unlock each box in order - finally releasing a Fear Factor flag from the final box. The four men who won their competitions would advance. The men were randomly paired up as follows: Tom and John; Chad and Al; Noel and Jeff; Larry and Josiah. For all the players, reaching that last box proved the biggest challenge. After hanging upside-down and struggling with the keys, plus wearing bulky clothes that could be a hindrance, the men seemed tired. Larry proved to be the biggest surprise - with a time that beat everyone else. The men who advanced to day two were John, Al, Jeff and Larry.
For the women, the first stunt was just "plane" crazy! A marine carrier jet was hoisted high above the ground, the nighttime Los Angeles skyline sparkling in the background. After riding up in the cockpit of the plane, each player would have to climb out onto the jet and retrieve as many Fear Factor flags as possible in three minutes - all while the plane was rocked back and forth above the ground! Patricia was up first and set the tone for the others by grabbing 13 flags. Leslie rose to the challenge and also captured 13 flags. Lauren scurried and snatched a lot of flags, but kept dropping them - meaning they wouldn't count! Her final tally was also 13 flags. Jessica, who had braved public nudity on the episode she won, scored 14 flags before sliding off the wing and instantly advanced to day two. Nicole also slid off the wing, but was surprised to discover she nabbed 15 flags. With three women tied for third place, all the women advanced to the next stunt.
As the women arrived in a creepy warehouse, Joe stood before what looked like a giant-sized fish tank. As the girl's watched in horror, several alligators dropped into the water! But viewers will have to stay tuned for part two to see what the stunt involves˘and what the men will face on their second stunt.
